A round table of experts from Central and South Asia was organized in Tashkent

The NGO “Central Asian Forum for Progress and Integration”, jointly with the Institute of Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Saferworld, and the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), organized an international roundtable entitled “Building Bridges: Regional Dialogue for Peace and Development” in Tashkent on July 23-24.

The two-day academic event brought together scholars and experts from Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Egypt to discuss current challenges and opportunities for peace, stability, and cooperation in Central and South Asia. The roundtable contributed to deepening mutual understanding and stimulating joint efforts in the context of the growing complexity of the regional situation.

The first session, “Engaging Scholars to Promote Stability,” explored the important role of academic institutions in promoting peaceful development, especially through inclusive approaches to education, social justice, and equality.

The second session, entitled “Understanding Regional Perspectives,” focused on assessing the contribution of regional actors to strengthening peace and protecting rights in Afghanistan and its neighboring countries.

The guests also visited the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and the historical complex “Khast Imam,” where they exchanged views with theologians.

The NGO “Central Asian Forum for Progress and Integration” hopes to further expand scientific and academic exchange in the region.
